Lusterboden
»Na Bravo!«
First of all: have you ever heard of Lusterboden? Let’s put it this way: in the Viennese scene, you come across the name – yes, it’s as unconventional as Bilderbuch or Buntspecht – all the time. As an insider tip. As a not-so-secret insider tip. As the next big thing. As an unstoppable newcomer. As a phenomenon.
Yet this group – which consists of only two young musicians, the duo Florian Klingler and Merlin Miglinci – has only released one album so far: ‘Sturz auf Wien’ (Fall on Vienna), released in 2024. There wasn’t even a record or CD, but the streaming figures for the very quiet release developed magnificently. Astonishingly magnificently. In the summer of 2025, Merlin and Florian had over ten thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, for example! On Instagram, some short videos have 3,000 likes and more. Other acts that are world-famous in Austria don’t achieve that in years.
But this duo doesn’t look left or right, doesn’t care about the New Viennese Song or old Austropop, doesn’t eye Ö3 or FM4 (okay, Radio Wien would be nice!), but sweeps everything away with youthful enthusiasm, irresistible charm and a dose of audacity. Word of mouth, baby! Lusterboden combine local colour and pop with a language that hovers between Viennese and High German. Their songs tell poetic and humorous stories from everyday life in Vienna – and their audience is growing and growing and growing.
‘Vespa fahren’ is now the first single from the second album ‘Na bravo’, due for release in late autumn 2025. If you want to ride along on this unstoppable vehicle of success, now would be the ideal time to get on board!
